What it is

A Spout Splashguard is a printed disc that slides onto the stub-out where a tub spout will go. It covers the rough opening so water running back along the spout is less likely to enter the wall.

It is a temporary cover. It is not a seal. It does not replace the spout, the pipe, or a code-listed fitting.

SS-C-25 1/2 in copper tube (smaller bore) 25 discs with separators $62.50
SS-G-25 1/2 in galvanized steel or brass pipe (larger bore) 25 discs with separators $62.50

Installation

  1. Confirm the SKU matches the stub-out. Copper uses SS-C-25. Galvanized or brass uses SS-G-25.
  2. Slide the disc over the stub-out so it sits flat on the wall.
  3. Apply plumber's silicone on the wall face, behind the disc, and where the bore meets the pipe.
  4. Let the sealant cure as the label directs before the area gets wet.

This is a temporary cover, not a listed waterproofing system. Follow trade practice and local code for the spout and the wall.
